Phase 1: Is Your Hospital Ready for Social Media?
Social media requires a paradigm shift from traditional media. Are you ready to think in a completely new way, to change from one-way, interruption marketing to having conversations, informing and educating, and trusting your community?
Before you start using social media at your hospital, this assessment is essential. The landscape of healthcare social media is littered with failed Facebook pages that were launched simply to “have a Facebook page” and now sit abandoned and forgotten.
In this first phase we meet with you and your management team to introduce the philosophy of social media, outline risks and rewards, analyze some real-world dilemmas, unearth and answer objections, ask the important questions, and set the stage for implementing a powerful social media strategy.
For instance, how will you respond when someone makes a negative comment about a physician or administrator on your hospital’s Facebook page? Will your employees have access to social media in the workplace? What are the essential steps to take to make sure you avoid HIPAA and regulatory violations? How can you avoid embarrassing and image-harming mistakes?
We spend a day in individual and group meetings with key stakeholders to help you ensure that everyone is ready to move ahead.

Phase 2: Social Media Boot Camp
Here comes the fun.
We bring an intensive social media boot camp to your hospital. Beginning at 9 a.m. one day and continuing through noon the next we help you launch the platforms you have selected to implement your social media strategy: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Foursquare and/or blogging.
This is much more than just setting up your account. We take you through every step, teaching you the technical skills and sharing best practices. When camp is over, you will have:
- On-line, functioning social media platforms.
- Actual experience in participating in each platform.
- Real experience managing each platform.
- An editorial calendar.
- A simple checklist identifying each day’s tasks.
- A comprehensive, customized reference guide for each platform.

Phase 3: Analyze, Adjust and Mentor
When your social media platforms are up and running we enter Phase 3. During this six-to- twelve-month period we help you analyze and adjust your strategy for the best results. You receive:
- Regular reputation management reports.
- Regular phone conferences (timed and tailored to your needs) to analyze and adjust your social media strategy.
- Unlimited telephone and email support.
