According to Michael Novati of Facebook, “Writing a Facebook note can be a great way to start a discussion with friends…” It can also be one way to engage patient, community, volunteer or physician groups.
With Facebook’s overhaul of Facebook Notes, it is now more user-friendly and has all the characteristics of a “mini-blog.” In the official announcement, the company detailed their improvements:
- A text editor to help make bold, italics, etc. without having to know html code.
- New tagging options that include the ability to tag Facebook Pages and leave notes on the pages you tag, which may increase readership.
- Drafts are saved and can be accessed from the menu.
- Other changes are in appearance, like cleaner layouts with a left-side guided menus and easy-to find links.
If your hospital or its staff is already using Facebook, this might be the time to consider how you can enhance engagement by trying out the revamped Notes feature.
